My journey with Zulu began prior to membership, rooted in service, and dedication. In 2015, I was introduced to Zulu through Big Shot Keith Thomas, with whom I was a lieutenant and krewe rider. Learning firsthand the responsibility and diligence that the role demands.
In 2017, I was sworn in as an Associate Member and elevated to the ranks of a Regular Member in 2023. Throughout my tenure, my commitment to Zulu has never been limited to one role or one season. I have dedicated myself to the organization in its entirety; from Carnival traditions to year-round service, community engagements, and internal operations.
This past year I had the honor of hosting both a Father’s Day event and a Thanksgiving dinner for the membership, further reflecting my belief that fellowship, unity, and care for our brothers are foundational to the strength of Zulu.
The Zulu Big Shot of Africa character represents more than a presence on Mardi Gras morning. It is a symbol of leadership, unity, protection of tradition, and respect for both the membership and community. As Big Shot, I will lead with dignity and honor, paying tribute to the Big Shots who came before me while faithfully upholding the traditions and standards of the Big Shot legacy.
I respectfully ask for your consideration and support as I seek to serve as your Zulu Big Shot of Africa – 2027, pledging to represent our great organization with pride, discipline, and devotion.
Hail Zulu.
